The National Events Center has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with The Authority of People with Disability, aimed at strengthening collaboration to develop more inclusive and accessible event environments across the Kingdom. The partnership seeks to enhance the overall experience of persons with disabilities and empower their active participation in the events sector, while facilitating the exchange of technical, knowledge-based, and capacity-building expertise in relevant fields.
The MoU outlines several key areas of cooperation, including knowledge exchange and the organization of workshops designed to develop skills and improve the quality of experiences delivered during major seasons and events. It also includes joint coordination to develop accessibility standards by enhancing both organizational and physical environments, ensuring inclusive participation and improved experiences for people with disabilities.
In addition, the agreement supports awareness-driven media initiatives to promote community understanding, alongside collaboration on professional programs that contribute to creating sustainable employment opportunities within the events sector. It also establishes a structured mechanism to effectively receive and address feedback and complaints from people with disabilities during major seasons and events.
This partnership contributes to raising public awareness on the importance of integrating people with disabilities into all aspects of public life, particularly within event environments, reflecting the Kingdom’s commitment to inclusion and equity. It further supports the development of a more inclusive and informed society, encouraging event organizers to adopt standards that ensure accessibility and enhance experience for all.
The collaboration also reinforces Saudi Arabia’s position as a leading nation in embracing diversity and ensuring equal empowerment across all segments of society. This initiative aligns with NEC’s ongoing efforts to enhance quality of life and enable all members of society to benefit from the Kingdom’s major seasons and events, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
