The National Events Center signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the National Unified Procurement Company (NUPCO) to establish a general framework for cooperation and leverage the expertise of both parties in organizing and supporting joint initiatives.
Under the one-year agreement, areas of collaboration include enabling the National Events Center to benefit from the services provided by NUPCO, exploring the development of a dedicated pathway tailored to the Center’s needs, and integrating it with NUPCO’s e-marketplace to facilitate procurement processes based on the company’s competitive advantages. The MoU also provides for exploring opportunities to exchange expertise in financial operating models between the two entities.
The agreement further aims to transfer knowledge to NUPCO personnel working in the events sector regarding the events classification model adopted by the National Events Center, as well as raising awareness of the classification framework and exploring its implementation in NUPCO’s events. In addition, it seeks to enable NUPCO to list its qualifying events in the National Events Calendar, and to explore the possibility of completing procurement processes through NUPCO’s platform for products that meet the Center’s requirements, where available.
The National Events Center, which operates under the Council of Economic and Development Affairs, is mandated to support and develop the events sector in the Kingdom by enhancing service quality and launching innovative initiatives. These efforts contribute to achieving the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, improving quality of life, and positioning the Kingdom as a global destination for major events.
