The National Events Center has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Abha Chamber of Commerce and Industry to enhance joint collaboration in the fields of events, festivals, and activities of mutual interest. This partnership reflects both parties’ commitment to supporting economic and social development, in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030, and advancing public-private sector collaboration.
Signed in Riyadh, the MoU outlines several key areas of cooperation. These include enhancing the visitor experience through technical support in designing visitor journeys, reviewing site plans, and applying international best practices. The agreement also covers knowledge exchange through workshops, collaboration in research and development, and the provision of advisory services in event execution. In addition, both parties will leverage digital platforms such as Matloob platform to promote events and attract participants in temporary work and logistics services.
The MoU further underscores both parties’ commitment to achieving sustainable development goals and improving the quality of events that contribute to boosting economic activity and tourism in the Asir Region. Under the agreement, National Event Center will support the Abha Chamber of Commerce and Industry in reviewing event content and design, while the Chamber will facilitate partnership opportunities and enhance awareness of NEC’s role. A joint working team has also been established to activate and implement the terms of the agreement.
The National Events Center continues to play a leading role in advancing the events industry in Saudi Arabia by building strategic partnerships that elevate entertainment, cultural, and tourism experiences. These efforts reflect NEC’s commitment to developing a sustainable and globally competitive events sector, further positioning the Kingdom as a premier destination for major events.
