The National Events Center signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Riyadh with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development and the General Secretariat of Sector Skills Councils, aiming to establish effective and productive cooperation among the parties in training-related fields, strengthen coordination and integration of efforts within their areas of expertise, and develop a general framework for joint activities and tasks that serve shared interests and objectives.
The MoU includes exploring opportunities to expand cooperation across all possible areas and benefit from the relationships, partnerships, and information held by each party. It also covers the launch of joint media campaigns to encourage graduates to apply for event management programs, in addition to activating collaborative initiatives aimed at building national capabilities through programs, seminars, and workshops. Furthermore, the agreement includes sharing studies and research related to the events sector, as well as reviewing and classifying specializations and programs and aligning them with national strategies.
The memorandum also outlines cooperation in organizing events and international exhibitions specialized in the events industry, contributing jointly to the development of the events sector at the national level through various initiatives, and collaborating on exploring and developing future opportunities. In addition, the parties will participate in evaluating and accrediting training and qualification programs related to the sector, while sharing sector skills frameworks and approved skills intelligence reports.
A joint working team will oversee the implementation of the memorandum’s provisions, present outcomes, and hold periodic meetings to monitor progress and prepare relevant reports. The team will also work on accrediting the “Events Pioneers” Program as a national initiative for qualifying Saudi talent in the sector, in addition to exchanging research, studies, available data, and skills-related information to further activate and expand the scope of the memorandum.
The signing of the memorandum comes as part of the efforts of the National Events Center, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, and the General Secretariat of Sector Skills Councils to enhance quality of life and empower the community to benefit from the events hosted across the Kingdom, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
