The National Events Center has signed a cooperation agreement with the Northern Border Strategic Office in Riyadh to develop and organize high-quality events in the Northern Borders Region, and to strengthen its presence on the local and regional events map. The agreement comes as part of ongoing efforts to support tourism, cultural, and economic development.
The agreement aims to enhance collaboration in leveraging the region’s rich natural, cultural, and economic assets, contributing to positioning the Northern Border Region as an attractive destination for events and tourism. It also focuses on improving infrastructure and logistics services, building a long-term strategic partnership based on sustainability and innovation, and developing the capabilities of local talent in event planning and operations.
Areas of cooperation include the joint development and organization of seasonal, cultural, entertainment, and sports events, along with the provision of technical, operational, and logistical support. The agreement also covers the design and execution of media and promotional strategies, while embedding principles of innovation and environmental and social sustainability across all stages of event delivery. A key focus is placed on showcasing the region’s identity and heritage, increasing community engagement, and maximizing the participation of local suppliers and businesses to stimulate the local economy.
The agreement stipulates the formation of a joint working team responsible for developing detailed action plans, defining roles and responsibilities, and overseeing implementation in line with approved timelines. The Strategic Office will contribute by providing suitable venues, facilitating procedures and permits in coordination with relevant authorities, engaging the local community and private sector, and sharing studies and data to support the development of the region’s events ecosystem.
Meanwhile, The National Events Center will provide technical, operational, and marketing support, align events with the national events calendar, and offer advisory services in creative content, visitor experience, digital transformation, and human capital development. Its role also includes planning, execution, operations, reporting, knowledge transfer, and the application of best practices in event management.
The agreement is set for a three-year term from the date of signing, with automatic renewal, and its provisions will remain in effect for all projects and programs initiated under it until their completion.
