As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance professional practices, the National Events Center organized a specialized event to mark World Procurement Day, observed annually on April 25. The event brought together a distinguished group of public and private sector entities, along with industry experts, to highlight the strategic role of procurement in improving operational efficiency and optimizing spending, as well as strengthening integration among relevant stakeholders.
The event aimed to underscore procurement as a key driver of financial sustainability for organizations, while facilitating knowledge exchange on the latest global strategies and tools in the field. It also focused on developing the capabilities of national professionals working in procurement, enabling them to keep pace with evolving market dynamics, and fostering collaboration between procurement departments and both internal and external partners to achieve shared objectives.
Activities included guided tours showcasing the achievements of participating entities and their contributions to advancing the procurement sector. The event also featured the signing of partnership agreements with Saudi Post (SPL) and CIPS Arabia Business Services Company, reinforcing collaboration and the exchange of expertise.
A series of specialized workshops were held during the event, including a session titled “Guideline Framework for Tender Documentation Preparation,” delivered by the Expenditure and Projects Efficiency Authority to promote spending efficiency in event procurement. Another workshop, “Introduction to Local Content Mechanisms for Government Entities,” was conducted by the Local Content and Government Procurement Authority to support the development of local content. The event concluded with the National Events Center being honored by CIPS Arabia Business Services Company in recognition of its commitment to the highest standards of integrity and transparency, and receiving a Procurement Ethics Certificate.
Through an interactive pavilion highlighting its services, the National Events Center participated alongside several government and private entities, including the Local Content and Government Procurement Authority, the Expenditure and Projects Efficiency Authority, the Saudi Logistics Academy, CIPS Arabia Business Services Company, and SAL Saudi Logistics Services Company.
These efforts reflect a broader commitment to enhancing the efficiency of the procurement sector within the events industry, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. The initiative supports financial sustainability, optimal resource utilization, and strengthened collaboration, while maximizing the economic impact of procurement and empowering national talent to adopt global best practices in this vital sector.
