Riyadh, 24 Jul
The National Events Center (NEC) launched the first session in its ‘Event Tech Talks’ series, aimed at enriching knowledge and raising awareness of the role of emerging technologies in advancing the events sector. The launch forms part of the Kingdom’s celebration of the Year of Artificial Intelligence 2026, highlighting AI’s role in supporting digital transformation, showcasing approaches to fostering innovation in the field, and enhancing the quality of experiences and services.
Held under the theme ‘The Year of Artificial Intelligence: Celebrating Impact, Inspiring the Future,’ the session took place at the House of Culture – Al-Taawun Public Library in Riyadh. It featured inspiring experiences and interactive spaces showcasing products and solutions related to emerging technologies. These activities supported knowledge exchange among specialists and enthusiasts and contributed to building a society that is better prepared for the future and more aware of the opportunities these technologies offer across various sectors, foremost among them the events sector.
The session included a panel discussion titled ‘A Vision Ahead of Its Time,’ which explored the future of artificial intelligence, the importance of early investment in the field, and ways to encourage new generations to acquire AI tools and skills.
An interactive workshop titled ‘Artificial Intelligence from Within’ examined how AI works and how it can be harnessed to create more advanced solutions and experiences. The workshop also simplified AI concepts for non-specialist attendees, enabling them to understand how technology works and strengthening their ability to use it in their daily work.
Attendees also explored interactive experiences and demonstrations at specialized artificial intelligence and robotics pavilions, where they engaged with the technologies firsthand and learned about available programs and training opportunities in the field. The pavilions turned AI concepts into practical applications, bridging the gap between theory and the real-world use of technology.
The talks are part of the ‘Event Tech’ initiative launched by the National Events Center to build a specialized knowledge ecosystem for event technologies, showcase the latest innovations and technical solutions, and promote the exchange of expertise among specialists and enthusiasts. The initiative seeks to accelerate the adoption of modern technologies and advance the future of the events sector in the Kingdom
