The National Events Center affirmed that its role as the entity responsible for overseeing events across the Kingdom carries significant importance in driving growth within one of the country’s most vital sectors.
In a statement issued on the 91st Saudi National Day, the Center — established by a Council of Ministers decision in March 2020 — noted that despite the short timeframe and exceptional circumstances faced by the events sector due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the impact on the sector did not last long. This was attributed to the substantial and unlimited support provided by the Kingdom’s wise leadership — may God preserve them — like the support extended to other sectors.
The statement emphasized that the strong foundations, dedicated national efforts, and available capabilities all contributed to overcoming challenges and obstacles, enabling the sector not only to recover but to return even more than before. The determination and ambition of Saudis, the statement added, know no limits in transforming difficulties into opportunities for growth and development.
In his remarks, Acting Managing Director of the National Events Center, Eng. Faisal bin Saeed Bafarat, expressed, on behalf of the Center, its employees, and companies operating within the Kingdom’s events sector, gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz for the support extended to the sector across all its fields, ensuring that it remains strong, prosperous, and successful in achieving its goals under Saudi Vision 2030, which will further advance the Kingdom’s growth and prosperity across various sectors.
He added: “In a short period of time, and thanks to God, the Center succeeded in building a distinguished and integrated team across all departments and divisions, supported by extensive expertise, to work swiftly and precisely in planning the strong return of the Saudi Seasons eagerly awaited by audiences inside and outside the Kingdom. Their success stands as an example of ambitious Saudi capabilities.”
Regarding the Center’s achievements, Eng. Faisal Bafarat explained that the Center successfully launched the “Matloob” platform, which aims to provide opportunities for establishments of all types to participate in seasons and events, in addition to individuals seeking employment opportunities within the sector. The platform received remarkable engagement within a short period.
He further noted that, as part of the Center’s collaborative role with government entities, several agreements and memoranda of understanding had been signed, which would have a significant impact on the success of its operations. The coming period, he added, will witness further coordination efforts serving the interests of the nation.
The Acting Director General concluded his statement by affirming that all employees of the Center and the sector take pride in the work they are carrying out, which will have a major impact on the advancement of the Kingdom. He emphasized that their achievements would serve as the driving force for continued creativity and innovation across various fields.
