The national initiative to promote digital innovation, held under the theme EventTech initiative, highlighted key investment opportunities in event technology during its third day at the Digital Entrepreneurship Center headquarters in Riyadh. The session, titled “Investment Opportunities in the Events Sector,” was organized by the National Events Center (NEC) in collaboration with the Digital Entrepreneurship Center (CODE) and the Monsha’at.
The session explored major challenges facing the events sector, including the need to adapt to rapid technological advancements, as well as addressing security concerns and protecting participants’ personal data. It emphasized that continuous innovation and the professional development of industry practitioners are essential to maintaining competitiveness in a fast-evolving landscape.
Discussions also focused on the sector’s growing opportunities and the challenges faced by companies and event organizers, along with strategies to overcome them and ensure the sustainability and success of events. Participants highlighted the accelerating pace of innovation driven by technological advancements, which has created promising investment opportunities for entrepreneurs and investors.
The session underscored the role of emerging technologies—such as artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), and data analytics—in enhancing event experiences and improving operational efficiency. It also emphasized the importance of identifying and leveraging these investment opportunities to drive growth and profitability.
Participants concluded that the events sector offers a rich investment landscape, enabling entrepreneurs and investors to achieve strong returns by harnessing digital innovation within a rapidly growing industry. From conferences and exhibitions to entertainment, sports, and cultural events, the sector continues to open new avenues for diverse investments.
The initiative aims to foster a culture of digital innovation within NEC through a distinctive national effort, strengthening integration among government entities in line with Saudi Vision 2030. It also contributes to accelerating digital government transformation in the events sector while enabling the creation of unique, future-forward experiences through collaboration and innovation.
